Thank you to all the families, large and small for participating in Meany Lodge Family Hiking Weekend. We enjoyed hosting all of you this year. Thank you chef Ray Hecox and sou chef Deborah Cole for the wonderful food. Thank you Patti Polinsky and Ray Nelson for organizing and leading the hikes.
Special thanks to Michael and Doreen Johnston for bringing their dogs to Meany and giving a wonderful demonstration and talk about their sport. I look forward to seeing the dogsledders on the trail this winter.
I have posted my pictures to the hiking weekend web site. Keleigh Muzaffar also sent a few pictures to share. If you have pictures to share you can send them to me at bdthom@comcast.net. These are pages of pictures and could be slow on some internat conections.

Hiking weekend pictures, page 3Meany is open most weekends this fall. The cost for lodging and that great Meany food is your time and a little labor. See the work party schedule on the Meany Home Page or sign-up online. Contact Chuck Welter about those weekends not listed as official work party weekends. There will be limited work party activities during scheduled events and classes (you're still free).
Ski season starts the week after Christmas and runs into March. The lodge is open every weekend, Friday through Sunday. Ski and snowboard lessons are available for adults and children as multi-week programs or single, drop-in lessons. See the Winter Sports website for program descriptions.
Family Hiking Weekend 2008 is the first weekend of August (August 2 & 3, 2008). Please put it on your calendar. I hope to see you next year, if not sooner.
Cheers!
