Welcome to the Meany Lodge Bike Trip Page

The Meany lodge bike trip on July 16th is almost upon us. What better way to come and see the lodge then by doing a Mountain bike ride. The trip starts this year at right at the Meany Lodge and follows the scenic Iron Horse and John Wayne trail (Old Milwaulkee RR righ of way) along Lake Keechelus to the rail tunnel at Hyak. After the round trip ride you will spend the night at Meany and have a great dinner and enjoy some activities, traditional fire, Smores and leave the next day after breakfast and a few short rides if you choose.

The ride will be on compact gravel roads all the way to Hyak, fat tire mountain bikes and cross bikes are very suitable for this ride as are trailers for kids. The ride itself is about 8 miles each way, the tunnel is 2.3 miles long so bright bike lights and warm jackets are required for those that wish to go through and back.

Rain or shine, we will meet at Meany Saturday July 16th, 10:30am (we will leave sharply at 11:00 am). the trip should take around 4 - 5 hours round trip

After we get back to Meany we have other activities planned

Following Sunday morning breakfast a bike maintenance workshop will take place followed by beginning and advanced rides. Gear will be transported to the Hyak parking lot.
