Well it appears that Mother Nature sometimes has it out for Meany. One year it's a monster snowstorm, another year its a monsoon rain, and now, more rain. Sigh -- but that is what you expect when you play in the woods - the unexpected. Especially with the weather. So this page records what happened at and near Meany during January 15, 2011 and the following week post mortem. With TomCat having sprung a differential leak, January 15 featured our new snow vehicle Hippo in his first major adventure - What looked like snow with some water on top actually turned out to be water with some snow on top...

The Aftermath

With TomCat down for the count, and PackRat questionable, the committee decided that we should not be open to the public the weekend of Januayy 21, but to try and start the repairs on TomCat along with assessing/repairing the 420 road. The folloing images wered taken by our own "Hairy Chin" Mr. Gerry Thompson and friend. Washout #1 was near whitter Road, washout #2 was just north of Whitter Road.
